"We first found out about Blue Sky Ranches in
August of 2008. Our daughter Angelica was out
visiting for the summer and we had been riding
horses every week down at the Buffalo Corral at
Fort Huachuca. It was the last Sunday before
Angelica was going to head back to NY. Well...
the monsoons kicked in and we were rained out.
When I asked the folks if there was anywhere else
we could ride, they suggested a few places that
would trailer the horses out to wherever you
wanted to ride... Despite the fact that it was
already late on a Sunday afternoon, I started
making calls and leaving messages. The only
returned call I received was from Bucky at Blue Sky
Ranches. We told him how this was going to be the
last time our daughter would be able to ride before
heading back east and asked him if it was possible
to take a ride up to the visitors center at historic
Fort Bowie. I let him know that we were not
experienced riders and he assured me that he had
the gentlest horses who would make even the
toughest ride seem easy. He said that would never
put a rider on a horse that his then five year old
son hadn't ridden... HE WASN'T KIDDING!!! He
immediately saddled up four horses and met us at
the gate. He was already waiting there by the time
we arrived. He told us the history of the fort and about the animals and plant life of the area. His colorful way of
weaving stories had us all smiling the entire time. Blue Sky Ranches turned what would have been a disappointing end
to a great summer into a day full of spectacular views and loads of laughter. I cannot imagine a better way to have
spent an August afternoon. We have since enjoyed many a ride with the Blue Sky Ranches family... hell, we even
bought those horses we rode on that memorable August day. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough."
